I have a total of nearly 20 years experience in web development, marketing, strategy and consultation. The vast majority of my experience has come from developing websites for professional industries; my speciality being tourism development.
Formerly I served as the Vice President of Creative / Strategy for DuBose Web Group in Columbia, SC. There I was responsible for setting the vision of the creative team, executing the company’s strategic plan and initiatives, maintaining the high quality of customer care we’ve become recognized for, and also for ensuring timely delivery of reputable products and services to our diverse array of clients. I also oversee the Development of projects in ExpressionEngine, which I have been using, almost exclusively, since mid-2007.
I’m also a small business owner. In 2002, I founded the Hawaiian Style Organization and subsequently, Guide of Hawaii, LLC. Our six-member team provides quality travel advice to nearly 2.5 Million visitors annually from around the world. Our company also maintains and builds strong relationships with local Hawaii businesses in the tourism sector, providing our partners a range of advertising and promotional services to help their business grow. My bond with Hawaii remains one of the greatest passions of my life. I utilize ExpressionEngine for hawaii-guide.com as well.
My skill set includes an eclectic mix of development items like: HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Design, organic traffic enhancement, SEO best practices (true SEO, not link building), and I also have extensive experience with PHP and Javascript. I love getting into web marketing, strategy, and consulting on larger projects. I am thoroughly familiar with both EE 1.7.x and EE 2.x, including hundreds of add-ons that compliment the CMS. I have worked extensively with e-Commerce add-ons, particularly Cartthrob, Expresso, Foxycart and Brilliant Retail. For what it’s worth, I tend to prefer Expresso and Foxycart (as of mid-2014). I’m familiar with custom Stripe integrations as well.
If you have any other questions about my EE experience or background, please shoot me a email and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
